h-imgTXT-FirstBaptistCanton-prayerWhat better activity could we be involved in as a local body of God’s people, than to be in prayer. God created us for communion with Him… that we might get to know Him, that we might understand His ways, and that we might see Him work in the lives of His people.

We believe in the power of prayer.
In Genesis 4:25–26 (NASB95), ‘Adam had relations with his wife again; and she gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, for, she said, “God has appointed me another offspring in place of Abel, for Cain killed him.” To Seth, to him also a son was born; and he called his name Enosh. Then men began to call upon the name of the LORD.’

Enosh means “man” and comes from a Hebrew which means “frail, weak.” It’s the word for man that emphasizes how fragile and weak we are in ourselves. (Warren Wiersbe)

With that said, prayer at First Baptist Canton is simply acknowledging that “without God we can do nothing!”
